This movement encourages everyone to participate in the circular economy by choosing second-hand clothing for the entire month. It’s a call to rethink our shopping habits, reduce waste, and make more conscious, eco-friendly fashion choices.
Second-Hand September not only promotes environmental responsibility but also shows that style and sustainability can go hand-in-hand ♻️. So, whether you choose to rent from peers on rax, or try out a cool new vintage shop near you, here are some things that we will be doing to participate in second-hand September (and we would love it if you joined us 😁)!
Shop vintage and second-hand
Thrifting is all the rage right now, and this challenge is the perfect time to try it out! There's no shortage of leather or denim at your local thrift store, vintage market, or second-hand store. You can find unique pieces of previously loved clothing that would be perfect for your fall wardrobe
Revisit old favourites
I'm sure we all have that shirt or pair of jeans hidden in the back of our closet that have not been worn in a while. Well, why not use this challenge as your chance to rediscover those old favourites you haven't worn in a minute and give them some more love!
Upcycling
Have you ever heard of upcycling? This is a fun way to turn some of your old clothes that maybe aren't part of your aesthetic anymore into something that perfectly matches your current wardrobe. There are amazing videos all over the internet that can give you ideas of how to DIY your old wardrobe into something new and fresh.
Rent your clothes
Well, if you couldn't tell, we think this is a pretty good idea all year round. But, if you don't know what to do for the second-hand challenge, there is no easier option!
